Applications are invited for a PhD position on a DFG-funded project at the Institute of Clinical Neuroscience and Medical Psychology (University of Düsseldorf, Germany) supervised by Dr. Joachim Lange (</span></span><a href="https://tinyurl.com/y2zvorux" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><span style="font-family: "Calibri", sans-serif, serif, "EmojiFont";"><span style="">https://tinyurl.com/y2zvorux</span></span><span style="font-family: "Calibri", sans-serif, serif, "EmojiFont";"><span style=""></span></span></a><span style="font-family: "Calibri", sans-serif, serif, "EmojiFont";"><span style="">).
In this project, we aim to study how pharmacological intervention modulates neuronal oscillations and perception using MEG and behavioural studies.<br>
The position is initially funded for two years by the German Research Foundation (DFG) with the potential for extension beyond this period. Payment accords to the regulations for the German public sector (65% of a full-time position in the salary group E13
TV-L).<br>
The candidates must hold an MSc in neuroscience, psychology, natural sciences, or related areas. Excellent skills in written and spoken English and a high intrinsic motivation for neuroscience and data analysis are also mandatory. Previous experience with MEG,
pharmacological intervention, statistics, data analysis and programming (preferably Matlab, FieldTrip, …) is preferable, but not mandatory. Most important is a strong motivation to learn the desired methods.<br>
The institute provides a state-of-the-art 306 channel MEG-system, an MEG-compatible tACS device, 3T MRI, and an interdisciplinary, friendly, dynamic, and open team.<br>
The position is available immediately, but starting date is negotiable. Applications are accepted immediately until the position is filled. Informal inquiries and formal applications should be sent to: Joachim.lange_at_med.uni-duesseldorf.de<br>
The application should include (please as a single pdf): a short (!) letter of motivation (max. one page), CV (including list of publications, if available), a certificate and grades of the master’s degree, the abstract/summary of your master’s thesis, and
the names and contact details of at least two referees.<br>
Looking forward to hearing from you,<br>
Jo Lange<br>
