researcher to study how the visual processing and representation of visual artworks changes as a result of expertise in art. The research will include a combination of multivariate fMRI (brain decoding; representational similarity analyses), computational

Affinity with vision sciences and neuroimaging methods is important, as are an interest in art perception, a computational and quantitative background, and programming skills (e.g. Python, Matlab). Further assets are a creative mind, good problem solving skills
and a collaborative and collegial attitude.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

record of helping postdocs obtain their own personal prestigious fellowships (national and international, e.g. Marie-Curie), allowing them to extend their stay and broaden the range of research questions. The net amount of the salary will be competitive and
in accordance with the University fellowship scales for postdoctoral researchers. The position is research-only without teaching obligations, but teaching opportunities can be arranged if desired. KU Leuven is one of the best European universities according
to international rankings (#45 world-wide in the THE ranking). Our research groups belongs to the department of Brain & Cognition, which contains almost 100 scientists, many of them with interest in vision, art, learning, aesthetics, and neuroscience. The
department is located in the centre of Leuven, a vibrant university town which is only a 25-minute commute from the centre of Brussels and its international airport.
