<html><head><meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></head><body style="overflow-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; line-break: after-white-space;"><div>The MediCIS team at University of Rennes, France is opening two positions for a PhD student and a post-doc, in Vision science and Surgical data science.</div><div>Our goal is to combine multidisciplinary analyses of vision, motion and performance to reveal mechanisms of perception and action during intensive, procedural actions (surgery).</div><div><br></div><div>Basic science research on motricity and oculomotricity, pupillometry, postural stability and eye-hand coordination will be applied to assistive surgery and training in surgery, with the surgery of the future in scope.</div><div><br></div><div>New and exciting questions and ideas will be directly tested and applied to <font color="#000000">VR, physical surgical simulators or robotic systems, before to be potentially deployed to the Operating Room.</font></div><div><span style="caret-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><br></span></div><div><span style="caret-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">The research team is composed by half of clinicians (surgeons and professors in surgery) of different medical specialties. The lab</span> host several robotic and non-robotic surgical systems, and has direct access to clinical robotic systems. The lab is located on the medical science campus with fMRI and Tomo scanners. It is also well equipped with eye trackers (VR and non VR), EEG, ECG, IMU devices as well as dedicated servers for computational modelling and deep learning.</div><div> </div><div>Over the past years, the team has lead the way in surgical data science with important publications in this emerging field (Nature Biomed.
