CALL for Machine Learning Research Engineer - IIT Genova, Italy

We seek to appoint a full-time Machine Learning Research Engineer to contribute to the development of new technologies for cutting edge vision systems in the context of an industrial project in collaboration with a large multinational company.

<br>

The project carries out innovative research on the topics of Visual Question Answering and fast adaptation of vision-language models.<br>

The project team will be responsible for all the phases of the research development, including methods design and implementation, data preparation and benchmarking, task planning and frequent reporting. 

<br>

Within the team, your main responsibilities and duties will depend on your expertise and experience.

<br>

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS<br>

* Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering or related fields with excellent overall score;<br>

* Strong engineering and programming skills (Python or C/C++); Experience with software development in Linux or Windows;<br>

* Solid knowledge of machine learning and computer vision;<br>

* Good in time and priority management; Strong problem-solving attitude; Creative, proactive and collaborative attitude; Ability to work autonomously in a highly interdisciplinary environment; High motivation to learn;<br>

* Good communication skills; proficiency in English language (written and oral).<br>

<br>

ADDITIONAL SKILLS<br>

* A PhD in relevant field (machine learning, robotics, computer science or equivalent);<br>

* Documented experience in the development of machine learning pipelines with deep learning libraries/frameworks, such PyTorch, TensorFlow;<br>

* Experience in the development of computer vision systems;<br>

* Experience in the development of data science pipelines.<br>

EXTRA AWESOME<br>

* A strong publication record;<br>

* Documented experience in coaching junior scientists;<br>

* Documented experience working in machine learning and computer vision research projects in industry or academia in a mid/senior or junior role;<br>

* Experience working with modern machine learning methods as Transformers.<br>
