This individual in this position will help lead the lab's work on digital readability, advancing our understanding of how and why specific manipulations to the appearance of text on screens helps readers at an individual level, laying the groundwork for new
approaches to customizing text to readers' specific needs. This work grows out of the lab's interests in eye movements, crowding and the visual mechanisms of reading, and is part of a larger collaboration with researchers, practitioners and educators around
the world through <a href="https://thereadabilityconsortium.org/" target="_blank" title="Original URL: https://thereadabilityconsortium.org/. Click or tap if you trust this link." id="OWA155ac94d-4b75-48d3-2fd8-35c0863fe9b1" class="OWAAutoLink ContentPasted0" data-loopstyle="linkonly">The
Readability Consortium</a>. The position will provide extensive opportunities for a postdoc to interact with researchers in industry and at other academic institutions, and is well-suited for trainees who are interested in moving to applied research. The position
is funded by a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Insight Grant to the lab, and the initial appointment would be for one year, renewable based on performance.<o:p class="ContentPasted0"> </o:p></p>

Candidates for this postdoctoral position should have completed (or be about to complete) a PhD in Psychology, Neuroscience or Human Factors, although candidates with other relevant experience and a strong interest in experimental vision science will be considered.
Candidates should have extensive expertise in experimental research with human participants; a background in visual psychophysics (ideally with eye tracking) is highly preferred. Most importantly, candidates should have an interest in studying fundamental
and applied questions in perception using behavioral methods.<br style="mso-special-character:line-break" class="ContentPasted0">
