<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Helvetica Neue Light"">The Perception lab at the Technical University of Darmstadt (PI: Thomas Wallis) is seeking to hire a postdoctoral fellow to start as soon as possible. The position is for
 an initial period of three years, with possible extension until October 2028, and is funded by an ERC Consolidator Grant.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Helvetica Neue Light"">The goals of the grant are to study how people infer which parts of a scene belong to which objects, how the rich information provided by the projection of the 3D world into
 our eyes contributes to these inferences, and how these processes might be learned. The candidate will be responsible for using modelling methods, in particular unsupervised machine learning and Bayesian computational modelling, to drive insights into how
 scene representations can be learned from retinal inputs. The postdoc will work closely with a PhD student using computer graphics methods for dataset simulation, and will be embedded within the environment of the lab group.
