<h3>Still Time to Participate β Submission Deadline Extended</h3>
<p>Dear colleagues,</p>
<p>There are still a few weeks left to participate in <b>MapTextβ25</b>, the <b>ICDAR 2025</b> (International Conference on Document Analysis and Recognition)
<b>Competition on Historical Map Text Detection, Recognition, and Linking.</b> To align with recent updates from the main conference organizers, we have
<b>extended the final submission deadline to April 20, 2025.</b></p>
<p>If you are working on <b>text detection, recognition, or linking,</b> this competition provides a unique opportunity to benchmark your methods on challenging historical map datasets.</p>
<h3>Key Details:</h3>

π <b>What to Submit:</b> Predictions + method description (code/binaries submission not required)<br>
π <b>Top teams will be invited to co-author the competition report</b> published at ICDAR and receive an on-stage award at the main conference<br>

<li><b>Diverse datasets,</b> including <b>French</b> land registers, <b>English</b> maps from the David Rumsey Collection, and
<b>Taiwanese</b> maps featuring <b>Chinese characters</b></li><li><b>Large synthetic training data</b> to support model development</li><li><b>Improved evaluation metrics</b> for more detailed performance feedback</li><li><b>Public evaluation tools</b> available for offline testing</li></ul>
