International AI Doctoral Academy (AIDA, <a

has developed an extensive and detailed AI Curriculum for
undergraduate(BSc) and postgraduate(MSc/Phd) AI studies in
the period 2022-2026,<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">thanks to
the contribution of more than 15 AI scientists. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

organized in five <b>Knowledge Areas (KA)</b>, each
containing several courses/modules called <b>Knowledge

style="font-size:11.0pt">KA1: Preliminary &
Foundational CS (PFCS)</span></b><span

paradigms, discrete math, data structures, etc.<o:p></o:p></span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l3 level1 lfo6"><b><span
style="font-size:11.0pt">KA2: Advanced Mathematics &
Cognitive Foundations (AMCF)</span></b><span
style="font-size:11.0pt"> - 7 KUs including Calculus,
probability, optimization, plus cognitive/neuroscience
fundamentals.<o:p></o:p></span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l3 level1 lfo6"><b><span
style="font-size:11.0pt">KA3: Core AI (CAI)</span></b><span
style="font-size:11.0pt"> - 7 KUs including Foundations of
AI, Knowledge Representation, Reasoning & Planning,
Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, NLP, AI
Ethics & Governance.<o:p></o:p></span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l3 level1 lfo6"><b><span
style="font-size:11.0pt">KA4: Advanced & Specialized
AI Electives (ASAI)</span></b><span
style="font-size:11.0pt"> - 15 KUs including Reinforcement
Learning, Generative AI, Trustworthy AI, Robotics, etc.<o:p></o:p></span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l3 level1 lfo6"><b><span
style="font-size:11.0pt">KA5: AI Support &
Professional Practice (AISP)</span></b><span
style="font-size:11.0pt"> - 5 KUs including Data
management, parallel/distributed programming, project
management, entrepreneurship.<o:p></o:p></span></li>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">It maps the
AI knowledge onto a flexible 120-credit U.S. bachelor’s or
240-ECTS Bologna degree, leaving ample space for additional
general education courses, internships, etc.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Each
Knowledge Unit (KU) contains <b>Recommended Contact Hours</b>
(total minimal classroom contact, including lectures and
labs), <b>Topics</b> and <b>Key Learning Outcomes</b>.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">This AI
Curriculum template for dedicated AI academic
programs/departments provides a coherent, modular pathway
that conforms to contemporary higher education standards. It
is organized similarly to the ACM/IEEE-CS/AAAI “CS2023”
curriculum on AI. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Besides its
use in developing undergraduate (BSc) AI programs, it can
serve as a basis for offering postgraduate AI programs at
MSc, PhD or even at postdoc level, as well as for
conversion/reskilling/upskilling AI programs for personnel
reskilling/upskilling.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">AIDA offers
its use free of charge. If an institution makes extensive
use of this AI Curriculum, it is welcomed to mention it in
the related AI BSc/MSc/PhD program www page and supporting

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">The AI
Curriculum is a living document that should be constantly
updated, as AI developments are fast and, at times,

interested AI Society or AI Department/program or individual
AI scientists are welcomed to adopt it or contribute to its
