We are seeking an outstanding postdoctoral researcher with
expertise in psychophysics<br>
to join our team dedicated to uncover the processes that give rise
to conscious visual<br>
experience. Our research addresses this question through the study
of visual illusions, <br>
visual masking, and inattentional processing. To this end, we
employ a multimodal<br>
methodological approach that includes psychophysical experiments,
phenomenological<br>
reports, eye-tracking, electrophysiological recordings, and the
opportunity for functional<br>
magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) in human participants <br>

<br>
The successful candidate will conduct research on the conditions
under which visual stimuli<br>
reach conscious awareness and the mechanisms and consequences of
unconscious visual<br>
processing. The research must be relevant to the department’s
current projects, preferably<br>
in the field of visual illusions or experimentally induced visual
hallucinations in healthy<br>
human observers.<br>
<br>
The position is funded for three years at 100% TV-L E13 by the
University of Göttingen. <br>
In addition to research activities, the postdoctoral researcher
will contribute to teaching<br>
research methods to undergraduate psychology students. As these
teaching duties are<br>
conducted in German, applicants must have German language skills
at C1 level or equivalent.<br>
