<div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr">An NIH-funded postdoctoral position investigating the neural mechanisms of saccade target selection and visually guided action is available in the laboratory of Dr. Robert McPeek at the State University of New York, College of Optometry in Midtown Manhattan.<br><br>Current work in the lab investigates saccades, attention, and reaching movements in primate superior colliculus and frontal cortex, particularly during visual search. Techniques include single- and multi-electrode recording, neuronal activation and inactivation, and behavioral measurements of eye and arm movements.<br><br>Highly motivated applicants should have a PhD in a neuroscience-related field and a strong background in neurophysiology, vision, attention, or eye-movement research. Facility with MATLAB and/or Python is a plus.<br><br>SUNY Optometry has a strong, interactive community of researchers studying diverse areas of vision, including visual neuroscience, perception, eye movements, computational modeling, and translational and clinical research on visual disorders.
