Students benefit from interactions with a diverse community of scientists and access to the outstanding research environment at UC Berkeley. Our alumni are represented on the faculty of world-class universities and in a wide range of disciplines spanning optometry, psychology, physiology, bioengineering, and ophthalmology. Many others hold research positions in private institutes and federally sponsored agencies, including NASA and the NIH. Still, others can be found in the research and development divisions of the industry. Ophthalmic, biotechnology and large technology companies are among the major recruiters of our graduates.
<p class="isselectedend" style="margin-right: 0in; margin-left: 0in; font-size: medium; font-family: "Times New Roman", serif;">We encourage applications from students with strong backgrounds in psychology, neuroscience, biology, computer science, engineering, optometry, or related fields who are excited about pursuing research in vision science.
<p class="isselectedend" style="margin-right: 0in; margin-left: 0in; font-size: medium; font-family: "Times New Roman", serif;">Applications for the 2027 entering class are now open. For information about the program, faculty research interests, admission requirements, and how to apply, please visit the UC Berkeley Vision Science Graduate Program website, or join our upcoming webinar (Oct 9, 1 pm PT).
<p class="isselectedend" style="margin-right: 0in; margin-left: 0in; font-size: medium; font-family: "Times New Roman", serif;">Please feel free to share this announcement with students and colleagues who may be interested.
<p class="isselectedend" style="margin-right: 0in; margin-left: 0in; font-size: medium; font-family: "Times New Roman", serif;">We look forward to welcoming the next generation of vision scientists to Berkeley!
<p class="isselectedend" style="margin-right: 0in; margin-left: 0in; font-size: medium; font-family: "Times New Roman", serif;">Best regards,
<p style="margin-right: 0in; margin-left: 0in; font-size: medium; font-family: "Times New Roman", serif;">Susana Chung
Chair, Vision Science Graduate Program
University of California, Berkeley
