Project title: Interferometric imaging of neural signals
Affiliation: Department of Ophthalmology and Hansen Experimental Physics Laboratory at Stanford University, CA
Job Description:
Prof. Daniel Palanker at Stanford University invites postdoctoral fellows to work on a novel modality of non-invasive and label-free imaging of the neural signals. We have recently demonstrated feasibility of interferometric imaging of the transient mechanical deformations in cells, which reveal the corresponding changes in cell potential. Now, the studies are focused on understanding the underlying mechanisms of such deformations, and on optimizing the system for in-vivo imaging of the neural signals in the retina.
Candidates should have a strong background in optics, and need to have, or be in the final stages of completing, a Ph.D. degree. To apply, send a letter indicating your qualifications, current C.V. with educational background, research experience, and publications. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
