Cognitive Neuroscience of visual scene perception*


A post-doctoral position is available in Dr. Soojin Park’s Visual Cognitive
Neuroscience Lab at Yonsei University in South Korea. This position is
funded by a grant supported by National Eye Institute (R01EY026042: Neural
representation of the geometry and functionality in a scene).


The postdoctoral researcher will carry out fMRI experiments on human scene
and space perception. Potential research projects focus on, but are not
limited to, investigations of how the human brain represents visual scenes
to navigate in an environment, core features of a scene geometry and
functionality, and the role of prior knowledge in scene perception.


Candidates with Ph.D. in Psychology, Neuroscience, Cognitive Science,
Computer Science or other closely related fields with strong background in
vision, neuroscience, and fMRI are encouraged to apply. Prior experience
with fMRI and psychophysical techniques is required. Proficiency in
programming (e.g., Matlab) is necessary.


The appointment is for 1 year. The starting date for the position is
immediate and applications will be reviewed as they arrive. Salary will be
at NIH guided post-doctoral rates.
