Position Title:  Postdoctoral Associate in Visual Neuroscience

Position Description:

The Graduate Center for Vision Research at the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Optometry invites applications for a NIH-funded postdoctoral position for collaborative research in the laboratories of Drs. Jose-Manuel Alonso and Stewart Bloomfield. The research program uses molecular, histological, imaging, behavioral and electrophysiological techniques to study mechanisms of encoding and transmission of visual information in the retina and visual cortex of both animal models and human subjects. Applicants should have a strong background in neuroscience and past experience in electrophysiological techniques is preferred.

The SUNY College of Optometry (www.sunyopt.edu/research) maintains a
vibrant research program addressing a variety of basic and applied topics in vision science. The College is situated in the center of Manhattan’s scientific, medical and cultural activities and is part of a large and dynamic community of visual neuroscientists in the metropolitan area.
