The Department of Psychology at the University of Washington invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor in the area of the neural and/or genetic basis of behavior. Our ideal candidate will have the goal of elucidating neural or genetic influences on behavior, using methodologies such as molecular/cellular neuroscience, behavioral genetics, or circuit/systems level neuroscience.  Applicants will be expected to provide high quality teaching and mentoring at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. This position has an anticipated start date of September 16, 2021. Tenure-track faculty have an annual service period of nine months (Sept 16-June 15). The successful candidate is expected to have or develop a record of high-quality publications, have or develop a funded research program, and teach undergraduate and graduate level courses. Qualifications

The department is seeking candidates who have a strong commitment to promoting the success of students from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups in academia. A strong component of the candidate's research portfolio should include linking measurements of behavior to mechanistic work in non-human systems.  Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree, or foreign equivalent.

Applications should include separate detailed statements of research and teaching, a curriculum vitae, the names and contact information for three individuals who can provide references (please upload contacts as an additional document), no more than three reprints or preprints, and a diversity statement of no more than 500 words. The diversity statement should address leadership, commitment, and experiences with diversity, equity, and inclusion. Applications must be submitted electronically through Interfolio.
