A postdoctoral position is available from February 1st, 2021 in the lab of
Dr. Matthias Müller at the Institute of Experimental Psychology, University
of Leipzig (Germany). The employment is full-time and will be awarded for
three years. The salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s
qualifications and previous work experience (TVL 13; see
https://www.lsf.sachsen.de/download/Tarif/Entgelttabelle_TV-L_01.01.2020.pdf
).

The position is within a joint research project with Dr. Veronica
Mazza (CIMeC, University of Trento, Italy), and is funded by the German
Research Foundation. The project aims to test central theories in visual
search. In particular, it is set out to test the functional role of the
so-called Pd component of the visual evoked potential. Experiments will
include EEG recordings and behavioural experiments conducted at the
University Leipzig and at the Center for Mind/Brain Sciences - CIMeC
<https://webapps.unitn.it/du/en/StrutturaAccademica/STO0008663>, at
UniTrento/Rovereto (Italy).

The postdoctoral researcher should be able to conduct independent EEG
research including writing of stimulation programs (in Matlab) and
recording and analysing EEG data. Candidates should have a background in
Psychology or Neuroscience and hold a PhD or be close to completion of a
PhD. Previous EEG experience familiarity with the use of Matlab for data
analysis and experimental designing is essential. Willingness to spend some
time at CIMeC in Rovereto to conduct experiments there is a prerequisite.

Applications with a letter of interest, CV, publication list and details of
two referees should be sent to Prof Matthias Müller at
m.mueller at uni-leipzig.de.
