PhD in visual correlates of Parkinson's Disease

An interdisciplinary, fully-funded, four-year PhD position is available in
the laboratories of Dr Ryan West, Dr Alex Wade and Dr Melanie Burke to
study the effects of Parkinson's Disease on contrast processing in animals
and humans. The project involves comparing electrophysiological and
hemodynamic measures of visual contrast sensitivity in genetically-modified
Drosophila (supervised by Dr West), in healthy human volunteers (supervised
by Dr Wade) and in clinical populations with Parkinson's Disease
(supervised by Dr Burke). The student will learn and apply a variety of
measurement and signal processing techniques in the domains of Drosophila
electrophysiology and human neuroimaging.

This PhD is part of the MRC DiMeN doctoral training program. More details
