yes, of course. I suggested 8 Hz because that’s near our de-Lange-max.
The reason is the different speed of becoming bright vs. becoming dark, and that depends strongly on the grey level to boot.
As to Vincent’s question:

yes, I’ve used OLEDs for years, but only the micro ones for acuity. So that’s not relevant.
We did try Sony’s PVM-2551MD, and sometimes it had no artifacts, but then some crazy automatic thing kicked in. Never worked reliably – but that’s probably not the OLED’s fault :).
