Post-doctoral position in Retinal Neurophysiology
The School of Optometry is seeking a highly motivated individual to work on an NIH-funded study of the structure and function of neural circuits in the mammalian retina in the lab of Prof. Teresa Puthussery. The project will focus on the role of glutamate receptors and voltage-gated ion channels in generating the response properties of neurons within the major pathways of the primate retina. The studies will utilize single-cell electrophysiology and imaging methods as well as immunohistochemistry and protein biochemistry.
At the time of application, individuals must have completed all requirements for their Ph.D, or foreign equivalent, in neuroscience, vision science, biology, physics, engineering or related disciplines, except their dissertation.
By the appointment start date, the successful candidate must be able to provide proof of their completed PhD, or foreign equivalent, in one of the above fields.
