Post-doctoral position in Retinal Neurophysiology at UC Berkeley

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to work on an NIH-funded study focused on understanding the diversity of neuronal cell types and mechanisms of signal encoding in the non-human primate retina. The studies will utilize patch-clamp electrophysiology as well as immunohistochemistry and image analysis.

Basic Qualifications:

At the time of application, individuals must have completed all requirements for their Ph.D, or foreign equivalent, in molecular and cell biology, neuroscience, vision science, biology, physics, engineering or related disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience or interest in visual neurophysiology and retinal circuit function
Experience with patch-clamp electrophysiology, calcium imaging, optogenetics, multi-electrode recordings or other functional recording methods
Experience with immunohistochemistry, fluorescence microscopy, image segmentation and analysis
Experience with programming and data analysis in software packages such as FIJI, Igor Pro, Matlab
