The University of Nevada, Reno, Department of Psychology invites applications for an Assistant Professor tenure-track position in the field of Cognitive Neuroscience.

Applicants should have a strong research record in a substantive area of cognition or perception. The research should address underlying neural processes and demonstrate potential for extramural funding. Individuals whose research integrates cutting-edge behavioral, neuroimaging and neurostimulation techniques with an emphasis on Child Development and/or Aging are especially encouraged to apply.

The position is part of a cluster of hires supporting the graduate programs in Cognitive and Brain Sciences (groups.unr.edu/unr_psych_cbs/CBS_grad_program<http://groups.unr.edu/unr_psych_cbs/CBS_grad_program>), and Integrative Neuroscience (www.unr.edu/neuroscience/graduate-program<http://www.unr.edu/neuroscience/graduate-program>).
Teaching includes graduate training in these programs, and undergraduate courses for both the Psychology and Neuroscience majors.

The department includes a strong thematic focus on vision science and visual cognition, and is the administrative home to an NIH Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) for Integrative Neuroscience (www.unr.edu/neuroscience/center<http://www.unr.edu/neuroscience/center>). The applicant will have access to a wide range of resources including fMRI, EEG, fNIRS, VR, High Performance Computing, Adaptive Optics, tDCS/tACS, and TMS. The Department is also home to three other graduate programs with a total of 29 faculty and lecturers conducting basic and applied research and providing outreach and direct services to the greater Northern Nevada community.

Reno offers many cultural entertainment opportunities, including theater companies, a chamber orchestra and a symphony orchestra. There is an international airport located in Reno. San Francisco is a 4-hour drive or 40 minute flight to the west.
