Post-doctoral Fellowship at the National Eye Institute:

Intramural research at the National Eye Institute (NEI), in Bethesda, Maryland, is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow to participate in collaborative studies with Visual Function Core and Section on Translational Research for Retinal & Macular Degeneration. The candidate will use in vivo electrophysiological (such as ERG recording) and imaging (such as OCT) techniques to evaluate visual function in animal models. We are particularly seeking a self-motivated candidate with a strong interest in basic and translational applications in vision research.
Our facility employs state-of-the-art physiological and imaging equipment including non-invasive electrophysiological recording setups, ultra-high resolution optical coherence tomography (OCT), and apparatus for visual behavior tests. Potential projects involve 1) using non-invasive techniques for evaluating the effects of novel interventions to treat retinal diseases in animal models; 2) investigating the retinal mechanisms of responses recorded by non-invasive electrophysiological and imaging methods.
Successful candidates should have: 1) doctoral training in experimental (bench) research, preferably in biomedical engineering, neuroscience, or vision research, 2) a productive publication record, and 3) an interest in both basic and translational research in the vision sciences, 4) an interest in applying the electroretinogram and imaging techniques to the quantitative analysis of retinal structure and function in animal models.
The position provides generous scientific resources and stipend support. Stipends are commensurate with research experience. Applicants must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, and non-U.S. citizens are eligible to apply.

To apply, please send a curriculum vitae, bibliography, and three letters of reference via e-mail (haohua.qian at nih.gov<mailto:haohua.qian at nih.gov>) or post to:
