The abstract deadline has been extended to June 1, 2018 for The Eye, The Brain and The Auto

The Eye, The Brain and The Auto 2018, the 8th World Research Congress on Vision and Driving to be held October 7-9, 2018 at the Motor City Casino Hotel, Detroit, Michigan will be the first major meeting in the United States on the relationship between autonomous vehicle technology and health care. The purpose of the Congress is to explore the role that this “disruptive technology” will ultimately play in health care. In-vehicle sensing systems have the ability to gather data of critical importance to health and wellness, and in addition will provide transportation accessibility to those who do not drive because of medical and functional conditions.  We are also inviting abstracts addressing the more general topic of the role vision plays in driving.

This three-day congress will consist of a series of twenty minute presentations from experts in the medical and automotive fields, selected from submitted abstracts, each followed by ten minute discussion or “challenge” periods. There will be major keynote addresses as well as ample opportunities for networking, poster display and discussion.

Larry Burns, retired Vice President of Research at General Motors, now a consultant to the Google AV Project
Mahul Bhatt, Professor from Sweden’s Centre for Applied Autonomous Sensor Systems and Germany’s Research Center for Artificial Intelligence
