*Postdoc in Adaptive Optics Eye Research at UC Berkeley*

The lab of Austin Roorda <http://roorda.vision.berkeley.edu/> is looking
for a postdoc to work on the development and use of advanced optical
systems to measure structure and function in the human retina. The specific
system will combine a state-of-the-art AO scanning laser ophthalmoscope,
with high-speed-high-accuracy eye tracking and phase-resolved AO-OCT. The
ultimate goal is to perform all-optical recording of neural activity in a
living human retina on a cellular scale. The project is supported by a
grant from the National Eye Institute through the Audacious Goals Initiative
<https://nei.nih.gov/audacious>.

The ideal candidate will have skills and experience in designing and
building complex optical systems. Specific experience with ophthalmoscopy,
adaptive optics, phase-resolved OCT, image processing, optical design are
all desirable.

UC Berkeley <https://www.berkeley.edu/> and the entire Bay Area
<http://www.visitcalifornia.com/region/discover-san-francisco-bay-area> is
a rich and stimulating place to live and work, culturally, geographically
and scientifically. The Vision Science Group <https://vision.berkeley.edu/>
is among the largest, most active and most diverse in the country, spanning
many departments across the campus.

If you are interested in being part of our group, please contact Austin
Roorda (aroorda at berkeley.edu) with a CV and a letter of interest.

The position is open immediately. Pay is commensurate with skills and
experience.

The University of California, Berkeley is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative
Action Employer.
