A fully funded PhD position in visual perception and numerical cognition is available at the University of Lille (France) and the University of Leuven (KU Leuven, Belgium).

The post-holder will perform behavioral experiments using psychophysics, eye tracking and computational modeling to investigate topics at the intersections of spatial vision and numerical cognition in different observer populations.

A Master's degree (or equivalent) in psychology, cognitive science, or a related field is required. Prior experience in experimental psychology, visual psychophysics and/or modeling is desirable. Ideal candidates have strong computational skills and/ or experience in clinical research. Programming proficiency (e.g. in Matlab or Python) is an advantage.

The position will be hosted in the SCALab at the University of Lille (scalab.cnrs.fr) and the Numerical Cognition Lab at the KU Leuven ( http://www.numcoglableuven.be/researchers.php ). The doctoral student will be supervised by Dr. Bilge Sayim (University of Lille) and Dr. Bert Reynvoet (KU Leuven). The appointment is for three years. Upon successful completion, a 'Joint Doctorate' will be awarded by both universities. The anticipated start date is the 1st of October 2018 .
