Multiple PhD and post-doctoral positions are available immediately in
the Department
of Cell Biology and Neuroscience <http://www.montana.edu/cbn> at Montana
State University <http://www.montana.edu/> in Jamie Mazer
<http://kernel.montana.edu/> and Charlie Gray
<http://www.montana.edu/cbn/faculty-staff/gray.html>'s labs to study visual
perception and attention. Positions are funded by a multi-site collaborative
NSF EPSCoR project <https://www.attentioninthebrain.com/> studying the
neural bases of visual attention across a range of species (rodents,
non-human primates and humans) involving labs at Dartmouth, Brown and the
University of Nevada at Reno. Students and postdocs will have ample
opportunities to collaborate with and visit labs at the partner
institutions.
Applicants should have a background in neuroscience, cognitive science,
computer science/math or a related field. Prior research experience and
computer skills (Python and/or Matlab) are required for post-doctoral
applicants and preferred for PhD candidates.
The Montana State University campus is located in beautiful Bozeman, MT, a
lively college town in the Rocky Mountains, just North of Yellowstone
National Park. The area is a year-round tourist destination home to
world-class hiking, skiing, climbing, biking, fishing, etc, mostly within a
few miles of campus.
Both PhD and post-doc applications will be accepted until available
positions are filled (PhD program has rolling admission). Please
contact Jamie Mazer (james.mazer at montana.edu) for more information or to
arrange a meeting at the SFN meeting in San Diego next week.
