Applications are invited for a post-doc position in the lab of Alexander
Schütz (https://www.uni-marburg.de/en/fb04/team-schuetz) at Marburg
University.

The position is funded by an ERC Starting Grant on "Calibration and
integration of peripheral and foveal information in human vision". The
project deals with differences between peripheral and foveal processing
and how they affect perception across eye movements. Methods include
psychophysics and computational modeling. Representative publications
can be found here:
http://jov.arvojournals.org/article.aspx?articleid=2474367 and here:
https://jov.arvojournals.org/article.aspx?articleid=2664176.

The lab is well equipped with state-of-the-art eye tracking, visual
stimulation hardware and a mirror-stereoscope. It is part of a larger
research group on perception (www.sfb-perception.de), providing plenty
opportunities for scientific exchange and cooperation.

The position is fixed-term from 01.04.2019 to 31.03.2021 (dates are
negotiable). It is full-time with salary and benefits commensurate with
a public service position in the state Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 13, 100%).
Candidates are expected to hold (or have submitted) a PhD and a good
publication record in perception, cognition or neuroscience. Experience
with computational modeling of perception and/or eye movements and with
experimental methods and psychophysics is desirable.

Applications from women and under-represented minorities are especially
encouraged. Full applications mentioning the reference number
fb04-0044-wmz-2018 should be sent by email to a.schuetz at uni-marburg.de
before December 14th, 2018. Informal inquiries are welcome.
