Jessica Morgan’s laboratory at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a post-doctoral fellow. The lab’s extramurally-funded program of research examines the structure and function of photoreceptors both in the normal and diseased visual system using high resolution retinal imaging techniques. One particular goal is to develop cellular level biomarkers for assessing photoreceptor response to gene therapies for inherited blindness.
The ideal applicant will have:
- a PhD in bioengineering, neuroscience, optics, vision science, or a related field, with a focus on one or more of these topics: adaptive optics imaging, retinal function, or image processing.
- strong analytical skills with experience in image interpretation
- strong quantitative skills, MATLAB programming ability preferred
The position is funded for 2 years with the possibility of continuation. Salary is competitive; Penn offers excellent employee benefits. Full health insurance is provided.
