PhD Position in Biomedical Image Analysis

The research group Biomedical Computer Vision (BMCV) currently offers a PhD position in the field of Biomedical Image Analysis. The task is the development of methods and software for automated analysis of biomedical images using Deep Learning. The aim is to improve medical diagnosis and therapy. The work is carried out in cooperation with biomedical partners.
The BMCV group develops methods and algorithms for automated analysis of biological and medical images, in particular, cell microscopy images and medical tomographic images. A wide spectrum of methods is investigated including segmentation, tracking, registration, and machine learning. A focus is on deep learning methods. The group achieved excellent results in international competitions on tracking.
Candidates must have a Master (Diploma) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Medical Informatics, Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline. We are looking for person with a background in Image Analysis and Deep Learning as well as good mathematical and programming skills. We also expect experience with software development systems and software container techniques. Candidates should be highly motivated, team-oriented, and interested in interdisciplinary research.
