A fully-funded postdoctoral position is immediately available in the
laboratory of Dr. Anitha Pasupathy at the University of Washington in
Seattle, WA. The laboratory studies the cortical processing of visual form
and is part of the Dept. of Biological Structure and the Washington
National Primate Research Center (WaNPRC).

We use a combination of experimental techniques including
neurophysiological recordings with high-density neuropixels probes and
reversible inactivation (optogenetic and cortical cooling) in the awake NHP
and computational modeling to address questions about object segmentation,
perception and recognition. The laboratory is one of several highly
collegial and interactive groups in the WaNPRC and the Computational
Neuroscience Center at the UW. Candidates with a Ph.D. in the Biological
Sciences or Engineering, an excellent research record are encouraged to
apply. The successful candidate should have some combination of the
following: experience in extracellular recording, a strong background in
relevant quantitative data analysis and modeling, and/or a strong
background in mid-to-high level visual perception. Please send applications
(short letter of interest, CV and the names and contact information of two
referees), or request for additional information, to:
pasupat at u.washington.edu.
