A postdoctoral position is available in basic and clinical vision
science, as part of a collaboration between the labs of Steve Engel
(engellab.psych.umn.edu), Gordon Legge (gellab.psych.umn.edu
<http://gellab.psych.umn.edu/>), and The Department of Ophthalmology and
Vision Sciences.  The goal of the project is to develop and test novel
assistive technology for people with age-related macular degeneration.
Research aims to improve reading in people with visual field loss, and
to understand general factors limiting reading performance. Requirements
include skill in programming vision experiments; experience with eye
tracking, virtual reality, and/or testing of reading would be
beneficial. The initial appointment would be for 1 year, with renewal
opportunities for several additional years. Start date is early fall of
2020, negotiable. Salary is at NIH rates.

The position also provides opportunity to develop additional
collaborations with the large and highly collaborative Vision Science
community at The University of Minnesota, which includes The Center for
Magnetic Resonance Imaging, as well as the unique interdisciplinary
Center for Applied and Translational Sensory Sciences
(http://catss.umn.edu <http://catss.umn.edu/>), which will host the
project.
