One Postdoctoral is available in Dr. Komogortsev’s lab starting August 2021.

Duties and Responsibilities: help in advancing the following vision: “push forward eye movement-driven biometrics as person recognition, health assessment, and emotion detection platform in the future virtual and augmented reality devices by creating eye tracking sensors, gaze estimation and prediction algorithms, eye movement classification algorithms, feature extraction and selection algorithms”.

Other responsibilities might include mentoring Ph.D. students and assisting in writing external funding proposals.

Qualifications: The candidates are expected to have a doctoral degree either in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a closely related area and a track record in scientific research. Good English proficiency is a necessary prerequisite. Good programing skills in such languages as MATLAB, C/C++, C# are expected. Previous experience with eye movement/virtual reality/mathematics/machine learning/signal processing research is a plus.
An important understanding here is that those positions are really very interdisciplinary and thus people who are interested in oculomotor plant modeling, motor control, and modeling brain function and applying this knowledge to such practical domains as person recognition and health assessment are welcome to apply.

Application
Documents Required (pdf):
- Letter of interest (1 page). Explain what aspect of the vision provided above you are interested in advancing and why.
- Research statement (1 page). Explain how your qualifications can benefit what you want to do.
- Curriculum vitae
- List of 3 professional references w/contact information.
