The Medical Image Processing and Machine Learning Laboratory at the University of Calgary (http://www.ucalgary.ca/miplab/) invites applications for a full-time academic position at the level of a Postdoctoral Fellow in Machine Learning for Medical Imaging. We seek highly motivated individuals with specific research interests in medical image processing and machine learning, and especially deep learning.

Candidates should hold a PhD in computer science, biomedical engineering, mathematics or an associated program, with a track record of excellence and publications in medical image processing and deep learning. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing advanced image processing methods using deep learning techniques for structural and functional analysis of MRI and CT datasets for computer-aided diagnosis support and clinically-oriented research. We are specifically looking for candidates with innovative project ideas that can be realized within the scope of this post-doctoral fellowship. The postdoctoral fellow will also be expected to take a lead on manuscript writing and preparation, presentation of scientific material at national and international meetings, support of grant applications, and mentoring junior lab members. The successful candidate will be located in lab space adjacent to other basic and clinical scientists conducting image science research focused on stroke and other vascular diseases, epilepsy, cancer, human neurodevelopment, adult, child and youth mental health, and traumatic brain injury.
