We are inviting applications for a full-time (tenured) position at the rank of associate professor.

[Research and Education area]
Department of Imaging Sciences, Graduate School of Science and Engineering, is seeking an image engineer of image acquisition/processing/reproduction based on human informatics, perceptual information processing, and Kansei informatics-related as a full-time (tenured) associate professor. We are seeking applicants with significant achievements and expertise in the research area of scientific imaging and related fields, who can conduct the research as a co-investigator of "imaging science and engineering for material appearance and affect", which is one of the projects promoted by Chiba University, and as a principal researcher of interdisciplinary research at the Design Research Institute that is a comprehensive education and research base in the field of design. The appointee will be engaged in education and research in graduate (Department of Imaging Sciences, Division of Creative Engineering, Graduate School of Science and Engineering), and undergraduate courses (Department of Information Engineering, Faculty of Engineering). The appointee will have some classes and take charge of a part of student-experiment and laboratory training in Japanese. The appointee has a track record of acquiring competitive funding such as Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (KAKENHI) and will actively promote such funding and collaborative research with companies.

[Starting Date]
As early as possible after January 1st, 2022

[Qualifications]
A Ph.D. degree (or an equivalent degree) is required. The applicant should be highly qualified in the research area specified above. The applicant should have the enthusiasm and ability to promote international exchange by taking advantage of specialized fields actively.
Commitment to teaching is also essential. Japanese language proficiency for research and educational activities, giving lectures, and administrative work is required.
