The research group for haptic and multisensory perception, Faculty of
Psychology and Sports Science, JLU Giessen, Germany, invites
applications for a part-time position to the extent of 75 % full-time
equivalent starting 01.09.2021 for 36 months, in the third-party funded
project "ChronoPilot”, for a scientific employee (m/f/d)
The position is available within the project „ChronoPilot – Modulating
Human Subjective Time Experience“ funded by the EU via Horizon 2020
FET-Open in collaboration with 5 project partners. The goal of the
project is to develop new methods for coordinating the subjective
perception of time in humans through multi-sensory stimulation (haptic,
visual, auditory), and to eventually support mental health in work
environments. Central tasks in Giessen will be the investigation of
human time perception and the development and implementation of haptic
and multi-sensory methods of time modulation.
Tasks: Collaboration in the above-mentioned project, in particular
planning, implementation and data analysis of basic scientific and
applied experiments on time perception
Development and implementation of methods for modulating subjective
time, close international and interdisciplinary cooperation (especially
engineering) with cooperation partners in Belgium, Greece, and Luxembourg
Presentation of the results at national and international conferences
and the creation of publications.
Requirements: You have a very good master’s degree in psychology or a
related discipline (e.g. cognitive science, computer science)
Knowledge and skills in perceptual psychology, experimental methodology
and psychophysics, as well as an interest in experimental work in basic
and applied research. Applicants with additional computer skills are
preferred. Enjoyment of interdisciplinary work is assumed. You have good
English skills
