[visionlist] Postdoctoral position at Queen Mary University of London

Dear all,

We have an opening for a postdoctoral fellow to join an interdisciplinary team of researchers (Psychology, Psychiatry and Computer Science) on a project funded by the UK Medical Research Council. The position is funded for 12 months, with a likely additional 3 months funding extension. The start date is flexible but ideally between October 1, 2021 and January 1, 2022.

The project involves using an innovative set of computational graphics tools that allow people to create personalised facial expressions using a genetic algorithm (GA) - developed by our computer science team - to measure emotion recognition. There are 2 PDRAs hired on this project, one based in Computer Science and one based in Psychology and the successful candidate would replace the PDRA in the Psychology team, who is moving on to a fellowship. This is a highly inter-disciplinary project and the successful candidate would help develop psychophysical and behavioural tests to measure emotion recognition using the GA faces, working closely with the PDRA in computer science. The post is based at Queen Mary University of London.
