Announcing a postdoctoral scientist position in the Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences at The George Washington University to work with Drs. Stephen Mitroff and Dwight Kravitz. The project will be funded through a cooperative agreement with the US Army Research Laboratory, which means the GWU team will work hand-in-hand with Army collaborators. The research focus is on using big data to understand the intricacies of human variability and how performance changes over short and long time frames. The work will center around a dataset of ~4 billion trials of visual search performance collected from ~15 million individuals. The project aims to inform basic science questions about underlying mechanisms of human performance in complex environments and its adaptation in relation to experience, while also informing translational questions with real-world applications. More information on the labs can be seen here: http://www.mitrofflab.org <http://www.mitrofflab.org/> and https://psychology.columbian.gwu.edu/dwight-kravitz <https://psychology.columbian.gwu.edu/dwight-kravitz>. Knowledge of vision and attention research is preferred, and strong statistical modeling and programming abilities are required (e.g., Python/MATLAB). The start date is flexible with funding anticipated to start in 8/21.

A formal application process has not opened yet so interested applicants should email Steve Mitroff at mitroff at gwu.edu <mailto:mitroff at gwu.edu> and Dwight Kravitz at kravitzd at gwu.edu <mailto:kravitzd at gwu.edu>. Please include a CV and the names and contact information for 2 references.

Best,
-Steve Mitroff & Dwight Kravitz
