Lab Manager
Virtual Environment Navigation Lab
Brown University
A full-time position is available to manage research activities in the Virtual Environment Navigation Lab (VENLab) at Brown University. Duties include managing VR and computer equipment, preparing and performing VR experiments, coordinating processing and archiving of large datasets, supervising undergraduate research assistants, and coordinating workflow in the lab. The VENLab is under the direction of Dr. William H. Warren, Department of Cognitive, Linguistic & Psychological Sciences, Brown University, Providence, RI, USA. The start date is between July 15 - August 1, 2022.

The NIH-supported project investigates the visual control of pedestrian and crowd behavior in dynamic environments, with the aim of formulating a vision-based pedestrian model. The results will be used to design and evaluate a sensory-substitution device for guiding locomotion using a vibro-tactile belt. The research makes use of virtual reality techniques, kinematic data analysis, and dynamical modeling. General information about the lab can be found at https://vivo.brown.edu/display/wwarrenj <https://vivo.brown.edu/display/wwarrenj> and http://www.cog.brown.edu/research/ven_lab/research.html <http://www.cog.brown.edu/research/ven_lab/research.html>
