Call for abstracts

Dear all,

The Applied Vision Association will be celebrating the twenty-seventh Christmas meeting at Nottingham Trent University on the 19th December. This is a one-day, in-person meeting to be held in the Newton Building of Nottingham Trent University.

The Newton Building is in the centre of Nottingham, City Campus, Goldsmith Street, NG1 4BU. It is a short walk (approximately 1 mile) or fully accessible tram ride away from Nottingham train station. There are regular trains to Nottingham from London and Birmingham. There are also several park and ride options, the Phoenix Park Park and Ride is close to Junction 26 of the M1, and the Forest Park and Ride is close to the city centre.

Registration opens at 10am, with the first talk session starting at 11am. The meeting should end around 5:30, with a drinks reception after.

This year's keynote speaker is Professor Holly Bridge, Oxford University.

Abstracts will be peer-reviewed & published in the journal Perception (so long as presenting authors attend the meeting) and should cover previously unreported research on any aspect of vision in humans, animals and machines. If you would like to offer a talk or poster, please email your abstract to: avachristmas2022 at gmail.com<mailto:avachristmas2022 at gmail.com> by midnight on Friday November 11th, 2022. Abstracts are to be no more than 250 words, and should be submitted using the template here: http://www.theava.net/meetings.php?s=christmas-2022-ava-meeting

Please remember to indicate whether your preference is for a talk or poster, and who will be presenting. We aim to notify of acceptance within 2-3 weeks. The organizers will try to accommodate preferences for a talk or poster but the number of submissions that this meeting now attracts means that this is not always possible.

We look forward to seeing you on the 19th of December!

Louise O'Hare, on behalf of the AVA committee
