[visionlist] Job Post 1: Fully-funded Master's and post-doc positions at Sabanci University/ University of Lille

Dear all,

A master's and a postdoc position are available in the Psychology Program
at Sabancı University in Istanbul in the field of visual perception. The
positions are part of a collaboration between two laboratories headed by
Assistant Prof. Nihan Alp (Sabancı University/ Turkey) and Prof. Dr. Bilge
Sayim (CNRS, University of Lille/ France). Both positions are fully funded
for 24 months, offering a competitive stipend (and possibly on-campus
housing free of charge). Post-holders will perform behavioral and EEG
experiments using psychophysics, eye tracking, as well as computational
modeling in areas such as peripheral vision and redundancy masking.

Responsibilities include:

   -

   Designing and programming behavioral and EEG experiments
   -

   Collecting and analyzing behavioral and EEG data
   -

   Running analysis, interpreting results, writing papers & possibly
   applying for grants
   -

   Preparation of publications and conference presentations
   -

   For the post-doc, the position may include a small amount of teaching
   -

   For the master's student, 10 hours/week of teaching assistance is
   required


Master candidates should have undergraduate degrees in Cognitive
Neuroscience, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
(completed by August 2023 at the latest). Post-doc candidates should have
completed a Ph.D. in psychology, cognitive neuroscience, or related fields
(by March 2023 at the latest). Good programming skills in MATLAB or Python
and experience in neuroscience research will be a plus. To apply, please

Speaking Turkish is not required.

Istanbul is a vibrant city known for its diverse culture, world-famous
food, history, and nightlife. Sabancı University is located 15-20 min. away
from Sabiha Gökçen airport. All the major European and Eastern cities, and
the Mediterranean shore, are easily reachable.
