Dear all,

2 Ph.D. positions, fully funded for 36 months, are available in the
Psychology Program at Sabancı University in Istanbul. The position will be
hosted in the Alp Visual Neuroscience lab (https://alvinlab.com/)
headed by Assistant
Prof. Nihan Alp. The starting date is flexible. The positions offer
interdisciplinary work and a competitive stipend for graduate students (and
possibly on-campus housing free of charge). Post-holders will perform
behavioral and EEG experiments using psychophysics, eye tracking, as well
as computational modeling in face perception.

Responsibilities include:

   -

   Designing and programming behavioral and EEG experiments
   -

   Collecting and analyzing behavioral and EEG data
   -

   Running analysis, interpreting results, writing papers & applying for
   grants
   -

   Preparation of publications and conference presentations


   -

   10 hours (a week) of teaching assistance is required


Ph.D. candidates should have at least a Master’s degree in Cognitive
Neuroscience, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
by August 2023 at the latest. Good programming skills in MATLAB or Python
and experience in neuroscience research will be a plus. To apply, submit a

2 referees. Speaking Turkish is not required.

Istanbul is a vibrant city known for its diverse culture, world-famous
food, history, and nightlife. Sabancı University is located 15-20 min. away
from Sabiha Gökçen airport. All the major European and Eastern cities, also
the Mediterranean shore, are easily reachable.
