The Artificial Intelligence and Image Analysis Research Group at the School of Science and Engineering, Flinders University, Adelaide, Australia has a fully funded PhD position (scholarship) in Machine Learning. The scholarship is part of the South Australian Government’s prestigious Industry Doctoral Training Centres<https://www.diis.sa.gov.au/innovation/science/industry-doctoral-training-centres> Pilots, interactive learning sessions embedded and is awarded to students pursing a PhD degree. Australian and International students are eligible to apply.

The Research

  *   Topic: Robust Object Detection, Segmentation, and Identification in 3D Images


The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Dr Gobert Lee and Dr Mariusz Bajger and will collaborate with academic and industrial/clinical collaborators. The successful candidate must be highly self-motivated, able to work independently and in a team. Demonstration of good communication and interpersonal skills is essential. The scholarship includes an Industry internship component.

Requirements
The successful applicant must have solid background in machine learning, and object detection/segmentation in images, with an emphasis on machine learning and deep learning.
