We are seeking candidates for 1 post-doctoral and 2 PhD positions in the Department of Experimental Psychology at the Georg-August University of Goettingen.

About Us
========================
We are a small team investigating basic processes of visual perception that lead to a conscious experience, as well as mechanisms underlying the processing of visual stimuli that do not reach consciousness. To address research questions in this field of experimental consciousness research, we are using psychophysical (e.g., reaction times, eye movements), physiological (EEG, fMRI) and phenomenological approaches.

The post-doctoral position
========================
This position provides you with the opportunity to work in joined projects with other members of the team in the field of visual Perception and Consciousness, as well as to develop your own projects related to the field.
As part of this position, you will be involved in supervising and teaching in the Bachelor's and Master's program in Psychology (6 hours per week in German language).

The application deadline is on the 9th of July, with a starting date as early as the 1st of September. Remuneration is according to the TV-L (100% of Spinal Point 13, based on prior qualifications, starting from 4188 - 5216 EUR).

Your Profile
You hold a degree in Psychology and a PhD preferably in a relevant topic (e.g. Perception, Consciousness, Attention), and have published papers in the fields. You have excellent knowledge psychological research methods, and are proficient in programming (Matlab, Presentation) and statistics (R). You have a good command of German and English (written and spoken).

The two PhD Projects
========================
In both projects you will be closely involved in planning and implementation of experiments, as well as data analysis and dissemination of research findings. A high degree of independence and the contribution of own ideas are strongly encouraged. In addition, you will be involved in supervising and teaching small groups of students in the Bachelor's program in Psychology (3 hours per week in German language).
Both positions commence as early as the September 1st 2023, and run for 3 years. Positions are remunerated according to the TV-L (50% of Spinal Point 13, based on prior qualifications, approx. 2059 - 2374 EUR). Application deadline is on the 9th of July.
Your Profile
You hold or are about to hold a degree in Psychology, and are interested in visual perception and cognition, as well as neuroanatomy. You are proficient in statistics and the use of statistical software (preferably R), and have experience in programming (e.g. Presentation, Matlab, C, C++). You have a good command of German and English (written and spoken).
