The University of Rochester’s Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences seeks to hire an outstanding early-career candidate in the area of Animal or Human Cognition. Appointment will be at the tenure-track Assistant Professor level. We particularly welcome applications from candidates researching cognition through non-invasive behavioral, computational or neuroimaging methods. Animal researchers may be either field or laboratory based. Areas of study may center on any aspect of cognition, with an emphasis on higher-level cognitive processes such as decision-making, learning and memory, concepts, communication and language, reasoning, metacognition, and collective cognition. Successful candidates will develop a research program that establishes novel collaborations within the department and across the university, and will also be part of a university–wide community engaged in graduate and undergraduate education.

Candidates should hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) in cognitive science, comparative cognition, psychology, neuroscience, or another relevant domain, and should have considerable research experience. Salary: $105,000 – $110,000 (9 month salary)
The referenced pay range represents the full base range of pay for this job. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
