[visionlist] Join the Vision Scientist list on Bluesky

Hello all,


Many scientists are building a new network on Bluesky and this is an
invitation to join as part of the Vision Science community.  If you are
still on Twitter, or never got involved with social media, this is a great
opportunity to take part in the next large online scientific community
which surged massively over the last month and is continuing to grow.

BlueSky is very similar to what Twitter had been back before it was
purchased, at a time when it formed a hub of scientific discourse and
helped keep people up to speed about preprints and publications. It also
has some new features that make it much easier to get started than it had
been with Twitter.  Bluesky offers tools like Lists and Starter Packs that
allows communities, like ours, to create curated sets of individuals that
you or others can quickly follow with a single click.

This email is a public service, recruiting people interested in joining the
growing vision science community on Bluesky.  Steve Haroz, Chris Olivers
and I are organizing this effort to grow our network. Filling out the
attached survey will add you to a Vision Science list on bluesky which is
similar to a mailing list.  By joining this list, anything you post will be
broadcast to others who follow this list.  Also, those on this list who
also post about vision science topics will be added to a BlueSky Starter
Pack,  which makes it easy for others to follow you with a single click.
Joining the list and starter pack does not preclude you from joining
others.


If you want to join the list, join Bluesky if you haven’t already at
<https://bsky.app/>https://bsky.app.  Then fill out the survey at the
following link, pasting your handle (e.g. @bwyble.bsky.social) into it.
You will not receive any emails from us about this unless we are having
trouble finding you on Bluesky. If you change your mind and would like to
be removed at any point you can just reach out to us by email or on Bluesky.
