Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the *Call for Short Paper Submissions* for the *2026
ACM Symposium on Eye Tracking Research & Applications (ETRA 2026)*, which
will take place in *Marrakech, Morocco, from June 1–4, 2026*. ETRA 2026
will bring together researchers, practitioners, and innovators to advance
the field of eye tracking research and its applications.

We invite authors to submit original *short papers* that present focused,
high-quality contributions to eye-tracking research. Short papers should
communicate *novel ideas, early-stage results, emerging methods, tools,
datasets, or insightful perspectives* in a concise and impactful manner.

Short paper submissions will undergo a *single-phase double-blind review
process* and will be evaluated based on originality, technical quality,
clarity, and relevance to eye-tracking research. Accepted short papers will
be published in the *ETRA 2026 conference proceedings* and made available
in the *ACM Digital Library* under *ETRA ’26 Short Papers*.

*Key Dates (Time Zone: AoE / Anywhere on Earth):*

   -

   *Abstract submission (mandatory): January 20, 2026*
   -

   *Short paper submission: January 27, 2026*
   -

   First round reviews and notifications: March 13, 2026
   -

   Camera-ready deadline: March 30, 2026

*New Requirement:*
Authors are required to include a *privacy and ethics statement* (2–3
sentences) addressing potential societal risks, privacy, fairness, safety,
human rights, data sovereignty, or misuse related to the research. This
requirement reflects ETRA’s commitment to responsible and ethical
eye-tracking research.

*Submission Guidelines:*
Authors may include *supplementary material*, such as videos, code, or
datasets, which will be archived with the paper. Supplementary materials
are optional but encouraged, particularly for interactive systems, and must
be *fully anonymized* for review.

*Topic Areas:*
ETRA 2026 welcomes short paper submissions on a wide range of topics,
including but not limited to:

   Data Analysis: Novel methods, machine learning, large-scale processing
   -

   Prediction Methods: Gaze prediction, action and intent modeling
   -

   Visualization: Gaze data representation and analytics
   -

   Eye Tracking Devices: Head-mounted and remote tracking technologies
   -

   Perception & Cognition: Attention, oculomotor control, naturalistic tasks
   -

   Gaze-Based Interaction: Interaction techniques, VR/AR, security, privacy
   -

   Applications: Education, healthcare, accessibility, media, and beyond
