Postdoctoral Position Available in the Memory and Perception Lab,
Moss Rehabilitation Research Institute (MRRI), Philadelphia/Elkins Park, PA
(Fall/Winter, 2026)
The Memory and Perception Lab<https://research.jefferson.edu/labs/researcher/persichetti-research.html> of the Moss Rehabilitation Research Institute (MRRI) is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to lead the lab’s research using layer-fMRI methods. The lab uses BOLD and non-BOLD sequences with high spatial resolution to investigate how feedforward and feedback information are dissociable across layers of human cortex. A main area of interest is the functional organization of cortical layers in regions involved in high-level vision and semantic memory. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the new and fast-growing field of layer-fMRI in humans while developing an independent research program. The lab also conducts related experiments using behavioral methods, eyetracking, TMS, and conventional BOLD fMRI. As a postdoc in the lab, you will also have the opportunity and resources to contribute to those lines of research as time permits.
As a postdoctoral researcher in the lab, you will be working in the lab at MRRI and collecting data using a 7T scanner on the University of Pennsylvania campus. MRRI is a unique environment with a highly active research community situated in the context of a rehabilitation hospital. Furthermore, the lab is actively involved in MindCORE<https://mindcore.sas.upenn.edu/> and collaborates with labs in multiple universities around the Philly area. Thus, you will be joining the broader community of excellent neuroscientists and psychologists in Philadelphia.
Applicants must have a strong track record using fMRI to answer questions related to cognitive neuroscience and/or a background in MR physics. If you think that you would be a good fit, send a resume to andrew.persichetti at jefferson.edu<mailto:andrew.persichetti at jefferson.edu> with the subject line “Postdoc Application: [Your Name]”. In your email, please include a brief description of your relevant experience with layer-fMRI research and why you are interested in joining our lab. Please attach your CV to the email. We look forward to hearing from you!
Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. The position is available immediately.
MRRI and Moss Rehab are part of Thomas Jefferson University, an Equal Opportunity Employer located in the Philadelphia area. Thomas Jefferson University is proud to offer its employees outstanding career opportunities including competitive compensation, attractive benefits plan including medical/dental/vision coverage, generous vacation time, and tuition reimbursement.
