The Stanford Digital Brain Project is a new multi-disciplinary project focused on collecting and modeling a large functional MRI and MEG-OPM dataset from human subjects performing a broad range of cognitive tasks including perception, attention, memory, language, and decision making. We are soliciting expressions of interest from potential team members, for positions as postdocs or research scientists, who have expertise in the following areas:

  * The cognitive neuroscience of visual search, attention, memory, and language

  * Perception and understanding of naturalistic stimuli such as audio/videos clips

  * Analysis of complex naturalistic behaviors using eye-tracking

  * Acquisition and processing of 7T MRI data or MEG-OPM data

  * Computational modeling of multimodal human neuroscience and behavioral measurements

Education and Career Development

The positions are intended to support the development of independent research trajectories in human computational cognitive neuroscience. Postdoctoral associates will receive mentorship in project development, experimental design, data analysis, manuscript preparation, fellowship and grant writing, scientific presentation, and long-term career planning. The postdoctoral associates are expected to lead projects resulting in first-author publications and competitive applications for fellowships and grant funding. Research scientists are expected to develop their own research trajectories that build upon their roles in the project.

Training and Mentoring

Team members will have the freedom to develop independent ideas while working in a collaborative, deeply engaged research environment. Mentorship will be provided by the principal investigator(s) in the team whose expertise best aligns with the individual’s research program, including Anthony Wagner, Justin Gardner, Kalanit Grill-Spector, Dan Yamins, Laura Gwilliams, Russ Poldrack, Ehsan Adeli, and Jon Polimeni. There will also be opportunities to work in close collaboration with other groups engaged in the overarching project. The positions will be based in the Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute, Psychology and/or Computer Science Departments, providing access to a vibrant interdisciplinary community of experimental and computational neuroscientists across Stanford University.
