The Research Training Group (RTG) 2070 „Understanding Social Relationships“ and the Georg-Elias-Müller-Institute for Psychology at the Georg-August-University Göttingen offer a

Ph.D. position (all genders welcome)

beginning December 1st, 2021. The salary is in accordance with the German public service salary scale (65 %, E13 TV-L) for up to three years.

The position is located in a project studying the impact of emotion cues on multimodal perception and social information processing, and their underlying neural mechanisms, in humans. The project is part of the Research Training Group 2070 “Understanding  Social  Relationships” that integrates research from Developmental, Cognitive and Social Psychology with human and non-human primates. Ideal candidates have a background in Psychology, Systems Neuroscience, or Cognitive Science. A strong motivation to conduct research, the willingness to engage in scientific exchange with other disciplines and the ability to work independently are essential.

Additional requirements:
• A very good M.Sc. degree (or equivalent) in Psychology, Systems Neuroscience, or similar fields
• Very good English skills (written and spoken)
• Good computational, statistical, and analytical abilities (e.g., R, Matlab, Python) are advantageous
• Experience in experimental studies and psychophysiological methods is beneficial
• German skills are favorable
