POST-DOCTORAL POSITION IN VISUAL NEUROSCIENCE – SEIDEMANN & PRIEBE LABS

The Seidemann and Priebe labs at UT Austin are seeking applications for an NIH funded postdoctoral fellowship. Our laboratories are working together to answer key questions regarding the nature, sources, and behavioral consequences of neural variability in the visual cortex using whole-cell intracellular recording in awake, behaving macaques (see Tan et al., 2014; Li et al., 2020 for related work). The successful candidate will combine neurophysiological, behavioral and computational approaches and will have opportunities to learn additional cutting-edge experimental techniques, including extracellular recordings with dense probes, two-photon imaging and optogenetics.
The neuroscience community at UT Austin (neuroscienceinstitute.utexas.edu<https://neuroscienceinstitute.utexas.edu/>) offers excellent facilities, an outstanding interdisciplinary scientific environment, a strong vision community and a very collegial atmosphere. Austin is an affordable city and is widely considered one of the most beautiful and livable cities in the US.
Computational background, programming experience, and experience with electrophysiology are desirable.
